Product features TEMPERATURE SENSOR WITH CAN OUTPUT PROTOCOL FOR OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT

This temperature sensor with CAN digital output (CANopen) - KSD 114 is designed to measure the outdoor air temperature. In the application segment of rail vehicles, it is used for example to measure the air temperature in locomotive engine rooms, it can be part of the temperature control system in passenger compartments or is used for indicate the temperature in the engine room as part of the fire protection system.

The temperature sensor with CAN digital output (CANopen) - KSD 114 for outdoor environment consists of a plastic head and a metal housing, where the sensitive element for temperature measurement (sensor) is placed. In the head there is a terminal block with a converter located, to which a power cable for the power supply of the sensor and the digital output signal depending on the type of sensor is connected via a grommet or a connector.

SD 114A, SD 114AK - CANopen / CiA DS 301 communication protocol, communication via CAN bus

The temperature range of use of the sensors is defined in the table of technical parameters for the different versions of the sensors. The sensors meet the protection index IP 65 according to standard EN 60529, as amended. Recommended sensor installation:

for outdoor air temperature measurement - installation is recommended on the cold side of the building (north or north-west) so that the 097.11en sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight. Installation is recommended at 2/3 of the height of the building wall.

for measuring indoor air temperature in premises, offices or production halls - installation is recommended on an interior wall at a height of 1,5 m, in areas of movement of people, in places not exposed to the sun and not influenced by the heat of the heating radiators or lighting

The sensor is designed to operate in a chemically non-aggressive environment, the use must be chosen according to the temperature and the chemical resistance of the sensor head.
